Basic information


Edit customers, whether they are companies or contacts.  A contact is a person you interact with. Clients, vendors, colleagues.  One or more contacts can work for a company.

Step 1 - Select the Customer

Find the customer, then click on their name.

  • You can select either a contact or company.  The small icon to the left of each name identifies them.
  • In the screenview above, we are selecting a company, Adventure Works Cycles.

Step 2 - Change Basic Information

You can change telephone and address information for a company.   You don't need to enter all the fields, only as much as you have available.

  • This screen shows the people who work for the company, the contacts.
  • Activities are also displayed.  Find out more at woking with activities.

Step 3 - The Edit Screen

Enter the customer information, then click Save this company

  • You also have the option to delete the customer from this screen.  
  • Caution! When you delete a customer, any linked contacts are also deleted, as are any activities.

Step 4 - Select a Contact

Select one of the existing contacts to modify their telephone and Email.

  • After clicking on one of the names, you will be taken to the contact screen.
  • In addition to being able to change telphone and Email info, this screen shows any activities that were linked directly to the contact.

Step 5 - Add a Contact

A company can have many contacts.   To add contacts, click on Add a new contact.
